James Baldauf Obituary

DELPHOS – James Franklin Baldauf, 90, of Delphos, passed away Wednesday morning, February 22 with his family at his side.

He was born February 5, 1933, in Middle Point to the late George and Honora (Hempfling) Baldauf. He was married to Margaret (Trentman) Baldauf who passed away September 23, 2006.

Jim is survived by three sons, Tim (Kim) Baldauf of Jackson Center, Randy (Ann) Baldauf of Delphos and Bart (Diane) Baldauf of Ft. Jennings; a daughter, Cindy (Bruce) Mox of Delphos; eleven grandchildren, Erica (Joey) Tevis, Matt (Destiny) Baldauf, Chad (Rachel) Baldauf, Nikki (Ross) White, Ryan (Casey) Baldauf, Krista (Andrew) Huntsman, Emily Baldauf, Rachael Baldauf, Cody (Alicia) Mox, Tyler (Alyssa) Mox and Evan (Jasmine) Mox; twelve great-grandchildren; and in-laws, Ruth Baldauf-Liebrecht, Ann Baldauf, Bob and Mary Lee Miller, Tom Pohlman, Norb and Irene Renner, Jim and Janet Trentman and Bob and Deb Trentman.

He was also preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.

James was raised on a small farm west of Delphos with his 13 siblings. He was raised to help the family with many farm chores. He spent two years in the Army where he was stationed in Fort Carson, Colorado.

He married Margaret Trentman on October 15, 1960, they raised three sons and a daughter. Jim spent his career at Lima State Hospital and Correctional Facility as a supervisor.

Jim truly appreciated nature. He enjoyed traveling to Minnesota and many state parks, planning many camping trips with the family. He naturally taught all his children to appreciate and enjoy nature. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially Tuesday evenings with his siblings at the homeplace west of Delphos. He enjoyed fishing and the game of horseshoe. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Eagles Aerie 471, the American Legion and VFW post 3035.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Military honors conducted by Delphos Veterans Council will be at the church after the Mass. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation. Online condolences may be shared at www.weberfh.net. Arrangements were entrusted to Weber Funeral Home.
