SIDNEY -- Jeffrey Foulkes passed away peacefully following a courageous battle with a long illness. Jeff was born March 15, 1956 to John and Carol Foulkes at Letterman Army Hospital, San Francisco. He is survived by his wife, Amy (Simcox) of 35 years, parents; brother, Doug and Joanne (Fowler) Foulkes; sister, Ellen (Foulkes) and Greg Bonk; nephews, Tyler and Spencer Foulkes; niece, Kimberly Bonk. Always interested in music, Jeff was active in various types of performance groups in church and school. Jeff was a member of the All-Ohio State Fair Choir for two consecutive summers. After graduating from Columbus Grove High School '74, Jeff attended Bluffton College where he received dual degrees in Music Education, and Liturgical Music. His deeply rooted faith allowed him to share his talents with many congregations over his lifetime. Most recently, Jeff served as Director of Music at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Copley, Ohio. He loved music of every type and was an active member of the Akron Symphony Orchestra Chorus for many years. In addition to his passion of music he enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, floral arranging, travel, genealogy, history, and literature. In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice in his memory. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
