SIDNEY -- John C. Dukro, 90, of Sidney, passed away at 7:13 A.M. Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Grande Lake Healthcare Center in St. Marys, Ohio. He was born on March 13, 1934 in Lima, Ohio, the son of the late William and Mildred (Wallace) Dukro. John was married to Joyce (Buchanan) Dukro, who preceded him in death on November 2, 1993.
John is survived by his longtime companion, Helen Snider of Sidney; 3 children, David Dukro of Cary, NC, Amy (Tom) Schnarre of St. Marys, OH, and Daniel (Daniell) Dukro of Wapakoneta, OH; granddaughter, Makahla Schnarre of St. Marys; and 2 sisters, Cheryl (Jack) Neuenschwander of Piqua, and Diana (Rick) Newland of Toledo, OH.
John served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. In 1974, he began working at Copeland Corporation as a quality control manager, eventually retiring in 1996 as Director of Operations Improvement. John was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney for over 23 years. He was also a member of the Sidney American Legion.
John had a love for travel that took him to many parts of the world, both through work and with his family. He also had a keen interest in geology, spending time as an amateur geologist. John will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the time of service. John's final resting place will be Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association in John's memory.
