KENNETH BURDEN
WAYNESFIELD — Kenneth Burden, Sr., of rural Waynesfield, passed away May 19, 2016 in his home.
Born September 8, 1928, son of Ernest & Velma Plaugher Burden. His siblings include Gene (Connie) Burden and Jeanette (Kenneth) Hall. He is preceded in death by Janice (Craig) Rex and Gary Burden. He married Pauline Stalnaker Burden October 7, 1950, who survives.
Also surviving are four children: Kendra (Thomas) Kesner, Kenneth (Kim) Burden Jr., Kim Schick, Christopher (Heather) Burden. They were blessed with 13 grandchildren & 20 great-grandchildren.
He served in the Navy as aviation machinist mate & was 1st in his class of 600. Ken loved life & his interests were wide. He was inducted into the Racing Hall of Fame In Talladega, as Go Kart Champion, and was known as "The King" in the racing circuit. He was a commercial pilot, farmer, had a trucking company, and loved woodworking. He worked hard & played harder. Ken loved his church, family and friends.
Funeral viewing will be at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima, Ohio, on Monday, May 23 and Tuesday May 24 from 2pm - 8pm
Funeral service will be in the Wapakoneta Community Worship Center, 14871 Fox Ranch Rd. Wapakoneta, OH 45895, on Wednesday, May 25th, 2016 beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Dan Holbrook officiating. Viewing will also be held on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service in the Worship center.
Interment will be in Salem Westminster Cemetery, with military rites by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and V.F.W. Post 1275.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Lima Host Lions for the Lions Vision Center 1672 Edna Drive Lima, OH 45807.
