Rodney Case

1945 - 2022

LIMA -- Rodney Gene Case, age 76, passed away July 6, 2022, at 5:00 pm, at his residence. Rodney was born November 1, 1945, in Lima, OH, to Oran L. and Viola (Steel) Case who preceded him in death. On July 29, 1965, he married Laureen K. (Thompson) Case who survives in Lima.

Rodney was a 1963 graduate of Bath High School. He had spent his career working as a truck driver with Linde Trucking Co. where he drove for more than 40 years and accumulated over 2 million miles retiring in 2011. After retirement he worked part-time for the Kewpee downtown as a "fry guy". Rodney was a member of the Lima Baptist Temple. He also was a member of the teamsters. His favorite past-time was working on his restored 1994 Corvette but most of all he loved and was extremely proud of his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Rodney is survived by his children: Dale (Linda) Case of Grover Hill, OH, Shawn (Kevin Koberle) Case of San Francisco, CA and Julie (Scott) Carpenter of Ringgold, GA, 5 grandchildren: Grant (Shelby) Carpenter, Kansas Carpenter, Brenna Case, Madison Case and Regan Case, 2 great grandchildren: Hazel and Gideon Carpenter. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila R. Case and 2 siblings: Barbara (Bob) Price and Lucy Garvin.

There will be a funeral service held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. Officiating the service will be Pastor Gary Homan. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.

Friends may visit on Monday from 4-8 pm at the Shawnee Chapel.
