Larry Kelly Obituary

LARRY "DOUG" KELLY, 81, passed into eternity May 11, 2024, in his Princeton, WV, home. He is survived by his wife, Rose of 61 years, daughter Cindy and Richard Robinette, son Allan and his wife Terri, granddaughter Abigail Simpson and grandson Anthony. Larry graduated from Logan High School in 1960. He then enlisted in the US Air Force servicing Vietnam era aircraft from 1961 to 1965. After an honorable discharge, Larry started a career designing the coal preparation plants familiar to the Appalachian landscape and vital to West Virginia's economy. For those who knew Larry, old cars, Pontiacs specifically, were his passion. He loved any form of racing cars, restoring cars, chasing parts, or swapping car stories at a drive-in with other enthusiasts.
Larry will be missed. No public funeral service is planned in respect of Larry's final wishes. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.seaverfuneralservice.com.

So very sorry to hear about Douglas passing away.
Back in Chapmanville when he was about 4 years old his Uncle Wilford painted a wagon for Doug to play with. It was truly a work of art!

Dearest Rose, Cindy, Allan, and the entire Kelly family, I am deeply saddened to hear of Kelly's passing. I have the most wonderful childhood memories of my family and yours spending time together. As a wee girl, Doug was like a second father to me, as like you, Rose, were like a second mother. I pray for strength and peace for you all during this sad and difficult time. Much love and many blessings to you. Sincerely, Rebecca.
