ALYCE BRADBURY Obituary

Alyce Florence Bradbury, of White Plains, NY, died on natural causes on January 7, 2007 at home. She was 84. Mrs. Bradbury worked as a Corrections Office for Westchester County Dept. of Corrections in Valhalla, she was with the Company for 20 years before retiring in 1986. She was a member of Civil Service Employee's Association in Valhalla. Mrs. Bradbury was born July 3, 1922 in Yonkers, NY to Albert Stevens and Anna O'Neil Stevens. She was educated in Briarcliff Manor and graduated from Briarcliff High School in 1940. On June 16, 1945, she married Arthur Frank in Irvington, NY. Mrs. Bradbury lived in White Plains for the past 48 years. Before that, she lived in Irvington and Briarcliff, NY. Mrs. Bradbury will be remembered for her generosity and loving kindness, determination and strength of will and character. She is survived by her son, James Bradbury of Texas and daughter-in-law, Carol Bradbury of Wappingers Falls, NY; her grandchildren, Alyce Zerbe and Melanie Bittar of PA, Ronald Bradbury of Mahopac and her six great-grandchildren, Elyzabeth, Travis, and Carlos Zerbe and Justin and Matthew Bittar and Charlotte Stencler. Family members who died earlier include her spouse, Arthur F. Bradbury in 1953; her sister, Anne Stevens, in 1988; her son, Rodger Bradbury in 1998 and her grandson, Kenneth Bradbury, in 1971. Calling hours are 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at McElroy-Flynn Funeral Home, 72 E. Main Street, Elmsford. There will be a Funeral Service at the funeral home Friday, January 12, 2007, at 10 am. Burial will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to American Lung Association in her name.
