ANTHONY ZAPPIA Obituary

Anthony D. Zappia, of Yonkers, died on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at age 78. Born on December 12, 1928 to Luigi and Angela Zappia in Yonkers and graduated from Saunders H.S. Mr. Zappia was a master carpenter for Local #52 Motion Picture Industries for over 27 years, retiring in 1991. On December 6, 1952, he married Helen Federico in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale. She survives, living in Yonkers. He was a parishioner of Christ the King Church and a former member of their choir. Besides his wife, Helen, he is survived by three daughters, Barbara ODell of Yonkers; Lorraine Lingblom of Greenwich and Helen Zappia-Hill of Thousand Island, NY. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Dawn, Michael, Jessica, Maxine and Dean and four great-grandchildren, Ashley, Alexia, Leigha and Freddy; his two bothers, Dominick and Nicholas Zappia and his sister, Antoinette (Nettie) Trapasso. Mr. Zappia was predeceased by his son, Anthony M., who died in 1980. His brother, Ernest and his sister, Mary Zazza. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball F.H. on Saturday evening from 7 to 9 pm and Sunday from 3 to 7 pm only. Mass of Christian Burial in Christ the King Church on Monday, April 23, at 10 am.
