DENIS DONOVAN

Denis Donovan, MD., of Rye died of natural causes on September 5, 1999 at United Hospital Medical Center in Port Chester. He was 65. Dr. Donovan worked as a physician in Rye. He was born March 18, 1934 in Rye to John Donovan and Catherine Driscoll. He graduated from Iona Prep., earned a Bachelor's degree from Holy Cross College and graduated Georgetown Medical School in 1965. On September 14, 1982, he married Linda Condro in Bermuda. Dr. Donovan was a lifelong resident of Rye. He was Chairman, Department of Family Practice of United Hospital. Former member Medical Board. Preceptor of medical students at NY Presbyterian Hospital and NY Medical College. Rye Police and Fire Surgeon and Rye City School District physician. He is survived by his wife Lin Donovan of Rye, daughter Catherine Sposato of Washington Township, NJ, son John Donovan, daughters Frances Bakker and Kerri O'Rourke, all of Ridgewood, NJ, daughter Nancy Farnsworth of Orlando, FL, daughter Erin O'Keefe of Boston, MA, sons Denis Donovan and Michael Donovan, both of Rye and 14 grandchildren. Calling hours are Tuesday, September 7th, 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral is Wednesday at 10am at Resurrection Church.
