Edward Kelly Obituary
Hillburn - Edward ("Ed/Eddie") T. Kelly Sr. of Hillburn, New York, passed away at the age of 73 on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
Ed was born on August 7th, 1945, to George and DoraKelly, in Suffern, New York. Ed worked as head grounds keeper for Ramapo Central School District until retiring in 2000. On February 14, 1976, Ed married the love of his life, Dariel Ogilvie.
Ed had many hobbies and interests. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Hillburn Fire Department for over 50 years, served as Ex-Assistant Chief and President. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting (past member of the New City Fish and Game Club), gardening and playing in the backyard with his grandson Nicholas.
Ed was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. He was always there for those who needed him and best exemplified what it is to be a kind, caring and thoughtful person. He is survived by his wife, Dariel; his son, Edward, Jr. (Marygrace) and his grandson Nicholas (who affectionately referred to him as "Pop-Pop"); his sisters Linda Lane, and Mary McGowan; and his extended family, including his nieces, nephews and cousins. Ed was predeceased by his father, George, and his mother, Dora and his brother George.
Visitors are invited to come between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday, November 8th, 2018 at Scarr Funeral Home in Suffern, New York. A funeral service will be held Friday, November 9th, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Scarr Funeral Home, Suffern, New York with burial to follow at Mary Rest Cemetery, Mahwah, New Jersey. Memorial contributions in memory of Ed may be made to the Hillburn Fire Dept., Hillburn, New York.
