GEORGE PIRO Obituary

George J. Piro, Sr. a resident of Rye Brook, NY died July 3, 2010. He was 84 and was born October 18, 1925 in Wilkes Barre, PA. to the late George and Anna Novak Piro. He was raised and educated in Pennsylvania and moved to Stamford, Ct at the age of 13. He served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Piro was married to Filomena Frattarola on July 20, 1947 at Corpus Christi Church. He was a retired plumber for Local #777 in Greenwich, Ct. He was a devoted parishioner of the Corpus Christi Church and was a member of the church's Holy Name Society, the Nocturnal Adoration Society and was the former coordinator for the Retreat League. Mr. Piro is survived by his wife Filomena Piro of Rye Brook, NY., son George Piro, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Norwalk, Ct., daughter Mary Wolf and husband Richard of Annandale, VA., sister Bernie Moccia of Trumbull, Ct., brother Edward Piro of Norwalk, CT., and grandchildren Jonathan and Julie Wolf and Samantha and Daniel Piro. He was predeceased by his brother Michael Piro and sister Mary Boasso. Visitation will be 4-8PM on Wednesday July 7, 2010 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will 10:30AM on Thursday July 8, 2010 at Corpus Christi Church 136 South Regent St. Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Mr. Piro may be to Autism Speaks 1060 State Rd. Princeton, NJ 08540. CRAFT MEMORIAL HOME, INC. 40 Leicester St. Port Chester, NY (914) 939-0131
