James Mulligan Obituary
James A. Mulligan Jr., of White Plains, NY passed away December 18, 2014. He was 86. James was born January 3, 1928 to Kathleen Coyne and James A. Mulligan Sr. He served in the Marine Corps from 1946-1949 and then the reserves until 1952. James worked as a manager for NY Telephone Co. (now Verizon) and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
On May 19, 1951 James married his wife Katherine in Brooklyn, NY.
Besides his wife Katherine, James is survived by his daughter Katherine M. (George) Winsman of Yorktown Heights, three grandchildren; Edward (Stephanie) Winsman, Heather (Nick) Sabba and Michelle Winsman, four great-grandchildren; Penelope, Sebastian and Rosalie Winsman and Gabriella Sabba and daughter-in-law Kim Mulligan.
James was predeceased by his son James L. Mulligan, a brother Thomas Mulligan and sisters Eileen Papain and Rosemary Donaldson.
Jim was a loving and devoted husband, grandfather and great-grandfather, active in his church and AARP for many years. He coached White Plains baseball. Nothing was ever too much trouble. He was a very caring and giving man.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to SPCA of Westchester or Wounded Warrior Project.
Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial is Monday 10am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment Gate of Heaven.
