Oakville, CT - "Beloved husband, father, grandfather & brother"

John F. Ferretti, 84, of Oakville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Waterbury Hospital after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Dolores (Louro) Ferretti for 62 years.

John was born in Port Chester, NY on September 10, 1935, son of the late Florie and May (Summo) Ferretti. He was a graduate of Port Chester High School in 1953. He was a proud US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. John worked in road construction for D.F. MacNamee in NY for 30 years and with the Town of Carmel, NY Highway Department for 15 years before his retirement. He enjoyed reading, watching TV and going to the casino but most of all, John loved to travel with his wife.

Besides his wife, Dolores, of Oakville, John leaves three daughters, Denise Ward of Oakville, CT, Dana Ferretti (Scott Volski) of Stockholm, NJ, Janice Ferretti (Chris Grater) of Dover Plains, NY, three grandsons, Nicholas (Amanda), Steven and John Mundo and one brother, Louis Ferretti (Joanne) of Copake, NY. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Joseph and Daniel Ferretti.

Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 3, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main St., Watertown, CT at 9:30 a.m. Please meet directly at the church. Entombment will follow in the Calvary Queen of Peace Mausoleum in Waterbury, CT. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT.
