Mary-Ellen & the Gibb family,
I read with sadness of John's passing. I had the distinct honor to have worked side by side with John on many occasions. He as a professional firefighter and me as a police officer. John was indeed a hard working man and consistent with his performance driven personality, true to form upon his retirement from the Fire Department John moved right into a busy and hectic nursing environment at United and Greenwich Hospital Emergency Rooms. I'am ever so proud to count John as a work colleague and more so as a friend. I know he adored Mary Ellen and his children and he will be deeply and profoundly missed.
in a life time all anyone can hope for is to be considered an honorable, good and decent person which accurately describes John to anyone that knew him. My sincerest condolences; RIP old friend.

Dear Mary Ellen first I would like to offer my condolences to you for the loss of your husband John. As a longtime friend of his and yours it is very hard to believe that he has now passed. John was a very respected person within our fire department , he was a mentor to many of us and a great guy to be around. Please accept my prayers and condolences in this time of need.

So many fun memories of John. I remember when he worked for Abbey Richmond as a paramedic and was stationed at United Hospital with John Rockey. Then he worked as an RN in the ER. A hell of a guy!
