RUTH KLUGE Obituary

Ruth Gubler Kluge, of Ardsley, died peacefully at her home in Ardsley, NY on May 23, 2008. She celebrated her 85th birthday in April. Ruth was born to Jacob and Clara Gubler in Tuxedo, NY, and later lived in Dobbs Ferry, NY and Ardsley, NY, where she attended the Ardsley Public Schools. She later graduated from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA. In 1945 she married Frank Kluge, also of Ardsley, and they settled there to raise their family. Ruth was an avid reader and a self-taught naturalist. She loved birding, finding wildflowers, and hiking. She travelled extensively, including several trips to explore her parents' homeland of Switzerland. Ruth had a broad network of friends, and she looked forward to daily phone conversations and frequent get-togethers with family and friends. Ruth was pre-deceased by her parents and husband. She is survived by her sister Lillian Gubler, her children: daughter Lynn Thomas, son Steven Kluge and his wife Christine Boyka Kluge, and daughter Mary Ellen Kluge, and her grandchildren Brian, Michael, Thea and Emma. She also leaves behind her extended family at the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, who were a constant source of mutual friendship and support. Visiting hours will be from 4 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday, May 27, at the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church on the corner of Revolutionary and Heatherdell Roads in Ardsley. The funeral service will be at the Church at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 28. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Revolutionary Rd., Ardsley, NY 10502.
