Houser, Howard F. "Pooch",

Mr. Howard F. "Pooch" Houser, age 93, of Louisville, entered into eternal life on May 31, 2017. He was born in Paducah, KY and moved to Louisville in 1954 to work at the Naval Ordinance Station until he retired to Kentucky Lake. He was a World War II veteran and served his country until 1945 in France, Germany, and all over Europe. After surviving the last major German offensive in the Battle of the Bulge, he went on to serve as a member of the allied troops who liberated the prisoners at Dachau and helped in relocating them back to their homelands primarily in Poland and Czechoslovakia. He was a 3rd Degree Mason in the Paducah Lodge. In his younger days he was an avid bass and crappie fisherman.

Among those who preceded him in death include, his wife, Geneva Fosberg Houser; his parents, Eddie and Nancy Helen Houser and his brother, William Houser.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Saundra McDaniel and Karen Cordts (Russel); 5 granddaughters, Cheryl McMullen (Steve), Tammy Cordts, Kim Hosey, Tracey Bramel (Bob) and Tonya Shaw; 7 great grandsons; 3 great granddaughters; 4 great great grandchildren; his dear friend, Liz Hammers and a host of many other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 5, 2017 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery (1335 N. 13th St., Paducah). Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Crusade for Children.
