John Roberts Obituary
He was a retired machinist and an avid University of Louisville fan. John was one of the kindest and the purest at heart people you could ever know.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, parents; Leonard & Georgia Roberts and his brother, Larry Roberts.
Survivors include his sisters, Sara Damron (Rob), Patty Greep (Bob), Karen Hargrove (Joe) and Ellen Dear (Peter), his brothers, George and Joe Roberts, his partner. Lisa Smith, his furry babies, three nieces, two nephews and also Avery who was like a granddaughter.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday with a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Sorry to hear of your loss. We always enjoyed being around John. He was very kind every time we were around him and a great host at his Derby parties. He will be missed.

Joe,I am so sad & sorry about John,I had so much fun with y'all when we were in our younger day's.When I first met y'all I thought you two were twins,not identical,just twins.Y'all always made me laugh & we had many of good times.I wish we would've kept in touch.I remember when the Barnaham & Bailey circus came to town & he took me & Cory to it.We all also started partying with all those guys & had a great time.I will cherish all of our memories we shared everywhere.John was a great friend to me.Godspeed

Sara, Patty, Karen, Ellen, George and Joe, so sorry to hear of John's passing. I treasure all the wonderful time we shared growing up and I hope your memories of John and and the love so many have for him help you through this sad and difficult time. Love you all.

John and I used to hang back in the day. I remember bar hopping and bowling at Ken Bowl. I'm sorry we lost contact over the years. He was a person every one liked. He'll be missed by many and loved by all.
