Mildred Lemmon Obituary
She was a former employee of the Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown and retired from the Floyd County Welfare Department. Millie loved to write poetry and was an avid reader.
Millie was born on April 22, 1921 in Harrison County, IN to the late Edgar and Rose M. (Pitman) Conrad. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John S. Lemmon; and siblings, Lodema and Billy Conrad.
She is survived by her children, Linda Sue Schell (Louis), Sandi Baker, all of Louisville and Richard Lemmon (Sue), of Corydon, IN; grandchildren, Brian Wolverton (Annette), Stephanie Napper (Larry), Brooke Barnes, Wayne Whitehouse (Belinda) and Kenny Schell (Linda); stepgrandson, Gill Schell (Janet); eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. Her funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Down Syndrome of Louisville.
