Thomas Coater Obituary

Coater, Thomas "Gary",

53, of Falls of Rough, KY, formerly of Louisville, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Jewish Hospital.

Gary was a beloved husband, dad and papaw. He was an employee of Brown Eagle Corp. for 20 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James N. Sr. and Ruby Rita Coater; and brother, James N. Coater Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Judy Coater; daughters, Kristie Lynn Cundiff (Branden), and Susan Ann Dry (Matthew); son, Brian Thomas Coater (Samantha); brothers, Paul (Darlene), Sam and Tim Coater; sisters, Betty Sharpe (Will) and Connie Coater Shallcross; grandchildren, Julie Lynn Cundiff, Noelle Elysia Dry, Liliana Grace Dry, Christian Michael Curtsinger, Corey Matthew Curtsinger and Cole Mason Coater; and best friend, Opie.

The family chose cremation.

His memorial funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Ratterman Grand Chapels, 4832 Cane Run Road. Memorial visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday.

Judy: I was so sorry to hear of your husband's death! I had no idea; we were at the lake! My prayers are with you, and Brian, and your daughters!! In time, may good, and happy times shared together, keep him forever in your hearts!
