Frances Duff Obituary
formerly of Westford and Chelmsford; 87
LEXINGTON -- Frances T. (Mulligan) Duff, 87, a resident of Youville Place in Lexington for the past 2 -- 1/2 -- years, formerly of Westford and Chelmsford, passed away on June 5, 2013 following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Leon J. Duff who died in 1993.
She was born in Woonsocket, RI on June 22, 1925, a daughter of the late John J. Mulligan and Ellen M. (Whalen) Mulligan.
Fran grew up in Woonsocket, RI and was a 1942 graduate of Woonsocket High School. In 1945, she graduated from the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to her retirement, Fran worked as a Registered Nurse for the Veteran's Administration. She was a faithful communicant of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish in Westford, MA for many years before moving to Youville Place.
Fran is survived by her sister, Mary Dolan of Cumberland, RI and eight nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings; Anna Feely, Richard Mulligan, and Margaret McNamara.
DUFF -- FRANCES T. (MULLIGAN). Visitation will be held on Saturday from 8 to 9 am at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 o'clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish, 107 North Main Street, Westford MA. Aunt Fran never forgot Margi's grandchildren and we will treasure her handwritten notes.

It was a sad day when told of Fran's death. She spent some time with me in Maine and Florida and we always enjoyed that time together. Her sad times and suffering have ended so she can enjoy her time in Paradise with Lee.
