Anna Weinner Obituary

Anna Ruth Weinner Sunfield, MI Age 74, went home to heaven on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 surrounded by her family at home. Mrs. Weinner was born November 2, 1933 in Chillicothe, Missouri, a daughter of Bernard and Thelma (Cosner) Schoenig. Anna was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a master gardener, past volunteer at St. Lawrence Hospital, gardener for Centennial Acres Golf Course and a ballroom dance Instructor. Anna enjoyed golfing (her hole-in-one at Centennial Acres), traveling the U.P., waterfall hunting with Karl, lighthouses, dancing, and all things Hawaiian. "The best thing I ever did was to be a mom." She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl, in 2000. Surviving are six children and twelve grandchildren: Paul and Brenda Weinner (Karl, Rebekah, Victoria), Michael and Julie Weinner (Mark, John, Jennifer), Terry and Michael Izzo (Angela, Kristin, Alissa, Tamara), Ginny Weinner, Chris and Jim Thomas (Sarah, Scott), Joe Weinner; five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Rosa Brown. Services 11 a.m. Friday, February 29, 2008, at Barker-Leik Funeral Home, Mulliken, with Pastor Darrell Franzel officiating. Interment in Meadowbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the time of service. Memorial donations may be made to Sparrow Hospice Services or the Capital Area Humane Society.
