Jose Velasquez Obituary
Lansing - Jose Velasquez of Lansing went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Jose was born September 27, 1920 in Loveland, Colorado to the late Fidencio and Elizabeth (Luna) Velasquez. He was a tradesman plasterer for William Reichenbach Co. in Lansing. Jose enjoyed woodworking and showed his creativity and talents through the many pieces he created. He also enjoyed working in the garden but most of all he loved to see and spend time with his family. He is survived by children, Nacho (Sherry) Velasquez, Josie (Jim) Kelly, Fidencio (Pam) Velasquez, Rose (Raymond) Trejo, Elizabeth (Terry) Berry, Jose (Christina) Velasquez; step-daughter, Carmen (Larry) Grey; 45 grandchildren; 96 Great grandchildren; 127 great great grandchildren; 32 great great great grandchildren and 2 great great great great grandchildren; brother, Arturo "Blacky" Velasquez. Jose was preceded in death by wife, Ruby and step-children, Mary Martinez, Virginia Gutierrez, Anthony and Henry Cruz. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018, 11: 00 a.m. at the Community Baptist Church with The Reverend Timothy W. Jackson, officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge.
