Fort Worth- FORT WORTH - Jana Mahon Cobb, 70, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, in her home.

Jana was born Nov. 11, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas. She spent her childhood in Colorado City with her parents, Judge Eldon and Nova Lee Mahon, and her sister and brother, Martha and Brad. The family later moved to Abilene, where Jana graduated from Cooper High School and met her future husband, David Cobb.
Both David and Jana attended Texas Tech University. Jana was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She received her BA in Home Economics. David and Jana married Jan. 2, 1971. Jana worked in Lubbock for the County Extension Agency while David finished Texas Tech Law School. In 1974 their daughter Shannon was born.
The family moved to Abilene in 1978 where Jana was involved with Junior League of Abilene, Abilene Fine Arts Museum, Western Heritage Classic, Buffalo Gap Arts Festival and an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
In 1995 David and Jana moved back to Lubbock. Jana spent many hours serving with the United Way. Together they enjoyed spending time with good friends and being involved with Texas Tech until David passed away in 2003.
Jana spent the last 13 years in Fort Worth with her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters. She devoted countless hours to her family. The love of her family kept her going for many years beyond what anyone expected. She will always be remembered as Nana - the sweetest, kindness, most generous grandmother in the world.
Survivors: Daughter, Shannon Moore; son-in-law, Michael Moore; granddaughters, Berkeley and Layla Moore; sister and brother in law, Martha and Lee Haag; and brother, Brad Mahon. Family members, Leigh Ann, Scott, Luke, Annie Pearl Vadala, Sam, Mallon, Addison Peyton Haag and Megan, Patrick, Shepard Seder.
