Genevieve Stoeckinger

GENEVIEVE STOECKINGER Genevieve T. Stoeckinger, of Las Vegas, passed away Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010. She was born to Francis P. and Rosie Emma Horton in Bladen, Neb. July 30, 1927. She was a homemaker and loving wife and mother of six children, grandmother of 11, and great-grandmother of 13. She is survived by her husband, of 58 years, Roy; and their six children (and spouses), John (Shelli) of Lincoln, Neb., Marie Weber of Hastings, Neb., Kathy Springer (John) of Crete, Neb., Bob of Las Vegas, Tom of Lincoln, and Phil (Geri) of Henderson. She is also survived by two sisters, Annie Konen of Guide Rock, Neb., and Rita Miller of Kansas City, Kan; and brothers/sisters-in-law, Phyllis Evans, Leona Harms and Bonnie Stoeckinger, all of Omaha, Neb.; Dorothy Stoeckinger, and George and Camille Stoeckinger, all of Henderson, and Phil Stoeckinger of Superior, Neb. Gen is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families. Gen was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Francis and Joseph; and sisters, Cecilia and Mary. Gen loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing cards and watching sports, especially Nebraska football. Viewing will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd., North, Las Vegas. The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at St. Joan of Arc Church, 315 S. Casino Center Blvd, Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to St. Joseph's Catholic School, 1300 Bridger St. in Las Vegas, or memorial Masses for Gen.
