RICHARD ERICKSON Richard L. Erickson passed away in his sleep January 8, 2018. He was born November 5, 1940, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Frank and Lulu Erickson. His parents moved to Henderson in the late 40's and he attended Basic High School and graduated in 1959. Richard then joined the Plumbers and Pipefitter's Union where he remained a plumber for over 35 years. He married the love of his life, Vedonna Grady Erickson, in 1959. They had five children, Richie, Dee, Mickie, Steven and Wendy. Richard was a Sunday school teacher, baseball coach, part of the church choir, a helping hand for anyone in need, but most of all a loving husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. After retiring, Richard traveled the world and began his second jobgolfing. He is survived by his wife, Vedonna; daughters, Dee, Mickie and Wendy; grandchildren, Summer Taylor, Amber Romo, Anthony Celario, Aaron DeForrest, Courtney Saucedo, Haley Moffatt and Megan Ratzloff; five great-grandchildren; and not to be forgotten, his dog, Pinky. Celebration of life will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, January 27, at First Henderson United Methodist Church, 609 E. Horizon Drive, Henderson.

I remember uncle Richard when I was in the cubscouts and his father,my grandfather was the head of the scouts. I grew up in Henderson until high school. Always had fun visiting uncle Richard and his family. I always tried to see him on a truck run to Las Vegas just a phone and he was there to catch up on missed time. I'll miss him greatly.
