MSgt Walter H. "Bill" Hodge (USAF retired)
May 3, 1929 - August 18, 2014
Cordele, GA- Bill Hodge, 85, passed away Aug. 18, 2014 at Crisp Regional Hospital. Bill was born to the late Alice Floyd Hodge and the late Ollie Hodge on May 3, 1929 in Dodge County, Ga. He was a graduate of Pitts High School Class of 1947.
A proud veteran of the USAF, he served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He retired from the military after 22 years of service. Bill also retired from RCA and owned and operated Cordele Cleaners for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Mary Nell Bolton Hodge; his brothers, W. A. "Bob" Hodge and O. W. "Skeet" Hodge; his niece: Valeria Hodge; and his great-nephew, James Bodrey.
His memory will be treasured by his sisters: Faye Schultz of Aiken, S. C.; and Opal Hein, Vera H. Roberts and Barbara Forrest all of Cordele; sister-in-law: Hillary Hodge of Lake Park, Ga.; eight nieces and nephews, nine great-nieces and great-nephews; and one great-great-nephew.
A memorial service and interment will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014 at the Pitts Cemetery, Pitts, Ga. Rev. Rob Craven will officiate.
As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests memorials in Bill's name be made to Reflections Hospice, 202 East Fourth Avenue, Cordele, GA 31015.
Special thanks is given to Rev. Rob Craven, Christina, Sonja, Cheryl and a special caregiver Carol House and all the employees of Reflection Hospices for their kind compassionate care extended to Bill.
