Victor R. Ellenberger

Victor "Vic" R. Ellenberger, born January 9, 1934, went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2013, at the age of 79. Born in Norfolk, Nebraska, Vic served honorably in the US Army from 1953-1955. He and his wife Marjorie were married in 1956. During their married life they lived in Nebraska, Washington, North Dakota and Wisconsin. They raised four children. Vic was a plant mechanic for 33 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards with family, and being in the outdoors. But more importantly, Vic was a devout Christian.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marjorie; son, Lonnie Ellenberger & wife, Peggy of Cleveland, Texas; daughter, Teresa Appugliese and husband, Jim, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; son, Jim Ellenberger and wife, Caley, of Weston, Wisconsin; sister, Larena Kumm and husband, Irvin, of Osmond, Nebraska; brother, Gerald Ellenberger, of Norfolk, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Russell Hubbard of Charleston South Carolina, Shane Hubbard of Chattanooga, TN, Tiffany Odefey, of Spring, TX, Scott Ellenberger of Fargo, ND, Zachery Ellenberger of Weston, WI and Aislynn Ellenberger of Weston, WI; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vic is preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Luella Ellenberger; his brother, Lester Ellenberger; his sister, Irene Mantey; and son, Timothy Ellenberger.

Vic's family will celebrate his life at 6:00 pm Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 1351 Grand Avenue Schofield, WI 54476. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the time of services at the church. Brainard Funeral Home Everest Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

All flowers and remembrances can be sent to the church. The family will have a private interment at Mechanic Ridge Cemetery, Wausau, on Thursday, October 24 2013.
