William Hawthorne Obituary
March 6, 1942 - March 26, 2023
Jeffersonville, Georgia - William Fleming Hawthorne, Jr., 81, passed away Sunday at his residence.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1624 Williamson Rd, Macon, GA. Burial will follow the Service at Jeffersonville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Reece Funeral Home, 15548 US-80, Jeffersonville, GA.
He is predeceased by his parents; William Fleming Hawthorne, Sr., and Ruby Combes Hawthorne; by his aunt, who was like a big sister to him, Yvonne Combes Grisham.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Eolyne Beck Hawthorne, who shared 58 years of a wonderful married life with him; his devoted daughter, Jennifer Hawthorne Smith, and her husband, Ken; his grandchildren; Califf James Smith (Gretchen), William Fleming Smith (Meghan), Griffin Hawthorne Smith, and Sarah Eolyne Smith; his "more like a brother" than brother-in-law, James Edward Beck, Jr; and numerous other family members and friends. Among those many friends was a most special relationship, from first grade throughout his life, with Governor Nathan Deal.
