Byrne, Mary Agnes
MCFARLAND - Mary Agnes Byrne, 80, of McFarland, Wis., passed away peacefully in her home on Nov. 27, 2021, with her loving husband by her side.
She was born to parents, Clarence and Agnes Joy Mathison, on March 3, 1941, in Dodgeville, Wis.
Mary met the love of her life, Eddie Byrne, in high school. Their love for each other grew over their 63 years of marriage. Together they raised four children: Debra Byrne (Doug), Jeff Byrne (Michelle), Dan Byrne, and Lisa Bennett (Jerry). They were blessed with four grandchildren: Brittany Blackard (Jason), Brandon Bennett (Kelsi), Isaiah Byrne, and Jacob Byrne.
Mary provided childcare in her home for many years. She loved these children and cared for them as if they were her own.
Mary had a pure, sweet disposition. She had a great love for animals and children. Her family will joyfully remember her vast collection of cookbooks and recipes.
Mary is survived by her husband, Eddie; her four children; four grandchildren; and sister, Maxine Hamm.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Agnes Joy Mathison; brothers, Phillip and Arthur Grindle; and sisters, Beverly Forseth and June Johnson.
Eddie would like to express gratitude to their hospice care team, especially Teri Bemis, Tamie Travis, Lisa Steindorf-Cleary and Lindsey Heisler. Your expert care and compassion will not be forgotten.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Dec. 11, at 1 p.m. at COMMUNITY OF CHRIST, 5110 Kevins Way, Madison, WI 53714.

Ed, I am so sad to hear of your beloved Mary passing away. My sympathy to you and your family. Mary was always a quiet, sweet gal. I remember our highschool days together. May your happy memories and the good things you shared help you through this sad difficult time and the days ahead.
