Helen Colleen O'Harrow Thiebert, 89, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother was called to be with the Lord on March 9, 2022.
She grew up on her Parent's and Grandparent's farm, loving fresh air, growing things, animals and living in "The White Big House" on a hill south of Twin Falls.
Colleen attended Lincoln Elementary School, Mountain View Country School, and Vera C. O'Leary Junior and Senior High School where she graduated in 1950. Later, she attended Library Science classes at the College of Southern Idaho.
Colleen Thiebert is survived by John Thiebert, her adoring husband, and three children from a previous marriage, Daniel Smith (Geraldine), two daughters, Linda Waters (Rick), and Shawna Redfield (Joe), two granddaughters, Brandi Schmahl (Mike Baker) and Sara Waters. There are seven Grand and one Great-Grand child, Chance Luper (Taylinn), Creed Luper, Austin Baker, Riley Luper, Cody Baker, and Gavin Waters, plus Great Great Granddaughter Emery Luper. Colleen is also survived by five stepchildren Debbie Barker (Gary), Pauline Lough (Jason), John Thiebert (Denise), Tom Thiebert (Alison), and Deanna Thiebert.
While her children were young, Colleen was a Sunday School teacher at First United Methodist Church where she was a life-long member. She was also a member of the Boy Scout Committee for Troop 67. During 16 years, Colleen was Camp Fire Girls Guardian She also worked as Secretary for Job's Daughters Bethel #056, and there, coordinated dinners for funerals.
With her love of helping children, education, and reading, Colleen worked in the school lunch program at Harrison Elementary School for six years then as an assistant for one year in the library at Robert Stuart Jr. High School. Colleen proudly became a Librarian at Morningside Elementary School where she worked for 18 years.
Colleen enjoyed diverse activities. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing, and antiques. Her submissions to the Twin Falls County Fair in those subjects won ribbons. A life-long reader, a book was never far from her hand (especially children's books). Loving the outdoors, she was passionate about backpacking and cross country skiing. She loved the family mountain cabin at Easily Hot Springs. Colleen dearly loved all cats, many accompanied her in her life. She adored her kitties Pumpkin and Merry and they adored her. Colleen enjoyed writing to her children weekly and later receiving twice-weekly calls from each of them. Her family was most precious of all to her.

John and Colleen were favorite neighbors of ours for 12 yrs when we lived on Sunway. At Christmas the year of 2000, shortly after we moved in, John, wearing his Santa hat, brought us a plate of Colleen“s fabulous homemade candy. We looked forward to that special gift every Christmas. We often saw John and Colleen out working in their beautiful yard, which we enjoyed as well as our friendship. John, our prayers are with you and we wish you comfort. Colleen was a fun and special lady.
