Dolores C. Croft

Dolores C. Croft, 87, of W. Laclede Avenue, Youngstown, OH, departed this life Friday, August 9, 2024 at the Hospice House, following an extended illness. She was born August 21, 1936 in Campbell, OH, the daughter of William and Sadie Robinson Gilliam. Dolores was employed with the Youngstown Area Urban League for 10 years as a Coordinator for the Lead Abatement Program, before retiring in 2005. She was a former Secretary for the Learning Depot for 7 years. She was a 1954 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. She was a member of the Greater Liberty Baptist Church, where she was the Church Clerk, President of the Nurses Guild and a Sunday School Teacher for over 20 years. She also belonged to the NAACP, the Idora Block Watch and enjoyed volunteering her time and talents. She married Frederick M. Croft March 13, 1965, he died November 7, 1993. She leaves to mourn one son, Daryl F. Croft of Youngstown; one brother, William (Cheryl) Gilliam of Baltimore, MD and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Gilliam and two sisters, Ms. M. Louise Longmire and Ms. Mamie Gilliam. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., with Calling Hours from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Greater Liberty Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Belmont Park Cemetery.
