Robert Weese Obituary
Robert Otis Weese
1938 - 2015
SOLON - Robert Otis Weese, 77, a dear and loving man, peacefully passed away early Sunday morning on July 5, with his daughter Gail and wife Linda, holding his hands. Bobby was born on April 18, 1938, in Madison, the oldest child of Robert T. Weese and Mildred (Turner) Sphanginburg.
He attended Madison Memorial High School in Madison. After his junior year, he joined the U.S. Navy, stationed in Quonsit Point, R.I. During his naval years, Bobby, was a boatsman mate on the U.S. Leyte. He truly enjoyed the navy, having been able to sail into many countries. While in the navy, and during his childhood years, he had many "Oh, my gosh!" moments. One was being late getting back to the ship. The naval crew was in work outfits, standing at attention for inspection. Bobby took his place ... in dress uniform. Another was when he and his brother Gary made a smoke bomb in the basement of their home. Their dad was not impressed with what they had learned in school.
One of the very special moments in his life was the birth of his daughter, Gail, with his former wife Jacqueline (Austin) Weese. His eyes always lit up when he saw his daughter. When she was little, they would sit together on the couch, watch cartoons while eating a big bowl of popcorn. Other times, he would take her for a ride on his motorcycle. Bobby enjoyed riding motorcycles and convinced his wife, Linda, to get her motorcycle license. He was so proud of her.
Bobby and Linda Howard were married on Nov. 27, 2014, in a private exchange of vows after knowing each other for 40 years and living together for 11 years. They always thought that arguing was a waste of time, time that could be spent laughing together. He always said "I love you" in the morning and the last thing at night.
He retired from Norrwock Shoe Company as a cutter after 20 years of work. He then went to work in the lumber yard at Campbells True Value Hardware in Madison for 20 years.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Linda of Solon; daughter, Gail Shibles and her husband Randy of Hartland; two grandsons, Jamie Lee Shibles and wife Jessica of Hartland, Randy Lee Shibles, Jr. "R.J." of Hartland; a great-granddaughter, Anessa Marie Shibles, to be born in November; two brothers, Gary and his wife Sandra of Smithfield, Donald of Florida, two sisters, Shirley Weese of Massachusetts and Beverly Bole of Florida. He was predeceased by his mother, Mildred Sphanginberg, father, Robert T. Weese; and a sister, Mary (Weese) Mayo.
He was very proud of his grandsons and enjoyed many special and funny moments with each of both.
God knows how much I love you and always will..always.
