Craig Gagnon Obituary

Craig A. Gagnon, 44
SOUTH PORTLAND -- Craig A. Gagnon, 44, of South Portland, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011, at the Gosnell House after a courageous battle with cancer.

Craig was talented in working with his hands. He spent his life doing plumbing, carpentry, electrical, flooring, painting...however, his passion was doing roofing with his best friend Stephen, prior to his passing.
Craig loved to ride his motorcycle, run sound for the band, hunting, going fishing with his buddies or be Unkie to all his nieces and nephews.
Craig's life was dedicated to his friends and family. Despite his hard exterior, he had a heart of gold. He could be called on at any time for those in need.
Craig was preceded by his father, Albert Joseph Gagnon III. He is survived by mother, Joanne M. Gagnon of South Portland; brother, Scott Joseph and wife Lisa of Gray, sister, Gail Ann of South Portland; love of his life, Tamra Gagnon of Westbrook; daughter, Christie Penney of South Portland, son, Christopher Grovo and girlfriend Tonya, daughter, Ashlee Elisa of Westbrook; aunt Marlene of South Portland, uncle Wayne and aunt Gerry of Florida and uncle Gene and aunt Helen of South Portland. He is also going to be greatly missed by those who called him UnkieÉhis six nieces and nephews and nine great- nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Craig's life will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011, from 4-8 p.m., at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Rd., in South Portland.

Joanne,
I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when the boys use to come to our games and would see them playing at Barbara Heald's house. I know how tough it is to lose a loved one as I have lost so many myself. They say ti gets easier in time but truly, your heart holds on to the memories and that is what truly gets you through it all. I know he is in good hands now and with so many othe "Village people". He is free of pain now and he will rest now. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Gagnon Family and Friends: Please accept my condolences during this difficult time.

"Mourning can go on for years and years.
It doesn't end after a year, that's false fantasy.
It usually ends when people realize that they can live again, that they can concentrate their energies on their lives as a whole, and not on their hurt, guilt and pain." Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
