David Cook Obituary

David C. Cook, 52
     FALMOUTH -- David C. Cook, 52, of Falmouth and Windham, died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007.
     Born in Manchester, Conn., he was a son of Melvin M. and Helmi Cummings Cook. He was a 1973 graduate of Portland High School and was on the swim team. David had worked as a logger in the Bethel area, a commercial fisherman also at Seacoast Ocean Services in Portland and was a finish carpenter. He enjoyed remodeling his homes. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, restoring antique cars and boating. He especially enjoyed time at the family camp in Locke Mills.
     About four years ago, he entered the Moose Lottery for the first time and he and his son, David, shot a moose on the first day. Surviving him are his mother, Helmi of Falmouth; his wife, Margaret Peggy Grady Cook of Windham; sons, David Eric Cook and John Ryan Cook both of Cumming, Ga., and Christopher Adam Cook of Standish; a daughter, Angela Elizabeth Cook of Cumming, Ga.; grandchildren, Steven, Eric, Kylee and Caleb; two step brothers, Mark and Neil and two step sisters, Ruth Edna and Robin.
     Visiting hours will be held from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd., South Windham. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday at the Finnish Cemetery, Pioneer Road, West Paris.

To a man most did not understand and in the end meant well for all he knew! We love you and will always miss you more than you will know. Please be with us and may all friends and family remember the great times we had! Lets all stay in touch and share these great times as pappa bear or "cookie" would love to hear his story told. Peggy please call with anything you need and we will be in touch too. We are here for you in ALL that you do.
