George was a great trader. I remember that he won a set of great duck decoy andirons at a Ducks Unlimited dinner one night. He kept muttering to himself, What am I going to do with these things? Well, I thought I'd offer my help by taking them off his hands. But... no. I finally convinced him that I'd give him all of my live raffle tickets for them. After much deliberation, he finally gave in. However one of those raffle ticket I traded was drawn and the prize was a collectors item shotgun! One that he had his eye on. Nice trade, George!
I consider myself fortunate to have worked with George for several years in the trading room at the (then) First National Bank of Boston. I enjoyed his company and the many stories he told of the Down-Easters he covered at the time.
We have lost a true character, and I share this loss with all who knew and appreciated him so much.
