Leslie E. Everett, 77
DUNEDIN, Fla. -- Leslie Everett, 77, of Dunedin, Fla., formerly of Portland, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on April 26, 2012, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Freeport on Oct. 17, 1934, the son of Ernest and Harriet DeCelle Everett.
Les attended Freeport schools. In his earlier years, he served on the Yarmouth Police Department. For the majority of his life, he was a long distance truck driver. He enjoyed golfing and cross country skiing in his younger years. In the later years, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Barbara Flaherty Everett; and his five daughters, Kim Kalicky and her husband Frank of Portland, Bonnie Everett Martinson and her husband Wade of Portland, Elisa Everett Monerville of Manchester, N.H., Debra Everett Hill of Portland, Janet Everett of Freeport, and one son, Bruce Everett of Jackman. Les had eight grandchildren, Matt and Ben Kalicky of Portland, Owen and Cole Martinson of Portland, Esabella and Bianca Monerville of Manchester, N.H., Ryan Everett of New Hampshire, and Rasheena Everett Williams of Texas. He had six great-grandchildren. Les also leaves two brothers, Gary and his wife Pat of South Portland and Allen of Sturbridge, Mass., a sister, Eva Galgovitch of Brunswick; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Everett was predeceased by two brothers, Norman and Clinton Everett.
A graveside funeral will be held at the new Calvary Cemetery in South Portland on June 25, at 11 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.
