Patricia Woodman Obituary

Patricia Mae Woodman, 72

WINDHAM - Patrica Mae Woodman, 72, passed away unexpectedly while vacation in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on Oct. 27, 2017. She was born on Dec. 24, 1944, the daughter of Ernestine (Bass) Gagne.

Patty grew up in Portland and attended Portland schools. In 1976 she met Richard Caufield. The two have spent over 41 loving years together, and shared two poodles, Daisy and Gabbie, whom Patty loved dearly.

Later in life, she worked for many years at Maine Medical Center until her retirement a few years ago. Patty also took on the role of Vice President of her daughter's business, Maine Rebar Services, Inc., which she was extremely proud of. Together with her daughter, she enjoyed attending classes and seminars for Women in Construction.

Patty was a loving, caring woman who touched many lives, from family to strangers. She loved to travel, go camping, play Bingo, and cook, especially baked ziti and coleslaw for her family.

She will be missed by all of those who knew her, including her "bestie" friend of over 30 years, Debbie Simpson, of Portland.

Patty is survived by her longtime companion, Richard L. Caufield; four children, Kenneth W. Woodman of Portland, Ernestine M. Woodbury and husband John D. of Windham, James L. Woodman and wife Courtney McMollum of Sarasota, Fla., and Benjamin A. Woodman and wife Wendy of Raymond, her adopted daughter, Dolores L. Sans of Portland; her cherished sister, whom she would do anything for, Linda Bass and her long time significant other Jackie Frost; her beloved only nephew, Kevin L. Bass and wife Courtney and his two children; her special sister-in-law Marilyn Stine of Fargo, N.D.; her 13 grandchildren; and many cousins; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her mother; Patty was predeceased by her granddaughter, Morgan E. Woodman.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 at the Dolby, Blais & Segee Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd., Windham. A period of visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A private burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland at a later date. I am so sorry to learn of the passing of your mother. Your relationship with her reminded me so much of the closeness I had with my mother. It is a bumpy road you are about to travel but it will get smoother with time. Pat will always live in your heart.

Tina,
I am so very sorry for the loss of your Mother. I lost my Mother almost a year ago and it is so hard. There will be good days and bad days and tears will come from out of the blue, but so will laughter and smiles. Cherish the memories, they are yours forever and will ultimately comfort you. I still find myself reaching for the phone to call my Mom, that is the hardest part, but I know she is watching over us, just as your Mom is watching over you. Family is so important and life is so short, cherish your family and friends and make memories. Big Hugs.

a caring , loving way!! People were attracted to you for your ways of caring for all that crossed your path in your life. I have so many memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Our family kept together thru so may good times , the holiday's cookouts , camping and so many more when Mom and Nana was around . You had that sense of humor that we all loved. I thank GOD that I was
able to spend 6 months with you and Papa. We would stay up laughing, talking and remembering all the special times in your life.
