Robert Harmon Obituary

Robert W. Harmon, 43
NORWAY -- Robert W. Harmon, 43, died from an accident in his home.
He was born on Sept. 6, 1968, in Oakland, Calif., the son of Arthur R. and Tamara (Reusswig) Harmon.
He graduated from Scarborough High School in 1988. He also attended USM and SMTC. He was preparing to take his Pharmacy Technician Certification very soon.
He worked for several years at Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth as well as Embassy Suites in South Portland. He also worked as a builder in manufactured housing for approximately eight years in the Oxford Hills area.
In 2001, he married Aurora A. Witham. They took a week long honeymoon cruise around the Hawaiian Islands. They made their home in Norway.
Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing or basically any outdoor activity. He was an avid war buff and could site many historical events. The Civil War was one of his favorites to study. He also did much celestial research and always observed the latest activity, for example, the meteorite display a week ago.
Robert had a wonderful sense of humor and liked listening to others stories.
He was a collector of model cars and had a rather large collection.
He is survived by his wife and her family; as well as his parents; a loving sister, Kristine; his grandmother, Virginia Harmon; aunt Janet and uncle Arthur, uncle Ken, aunt Karen and uncle Bryan; plus several cousins; and his constant companion Chelsea, his English Springer Spaniel.
A memorial service will be held at his parent's house, 22 Jewett Rd., Raymond, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22. Arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris. Online condolences may be shared with his family at www.chandlerfunerals.com.

My darling Bob. Some days its easier to believe you are camping at your parents or taking a trek in the woods with Chelsea. I will always take with me the good memories of us such as walking along Norway Lake, taking long drives to Bethel and our special trips to New York. Our 12 years went by too quickly and not a day will go by where I won't miss you. Thank you Tami and Skip for everything. My heart goes out to you and the rest of your family. We lost a very special person, but someday we shall all meet again. I love you Bob xoxo

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. My condolences to his family. I worked with Bob at the Embassy and he was a real down to earth guy. Had lots of good times on and off the clock. I remember him always having a small toy in his pocket wether it was a army soldier,a replica of the star trek enterprise or a star wars character. He would pull out something. Thanks for the good times and the memories. RIP Bobby.....see you again my friend....

I will always have a very special place in my heart for my 1st Nephew. I had the pleasure of watching you grow up from a blond headed skinny kid who always had such a funny sweet demeanor to a handsome married man. Bob you left us way too soon but I know God has other plans for you to take you from us so early. But knowing you are flying among the angels and watching over us gives me peace because God only takes the best, and I know we will see each other again and that is what gives me strength to carry on.
Remember:
"It Is Not The Destination But The Journey Traveled"
And I know my sweet nephew, you had one hell of a ride!

Love & Miss You Always!

Mr. and Mrs. Harmon, Kristie - I am so sorry for the loss of your son/brother. I only met Bobby once - at your home - he was washing his truck, but took the time to share pleasantries with me. I know he will be missed. Again - my deepest sympathy.
Warm regards,
Sandy
