I kept in touch with Bob for many years after I was privileged to meet him when he was in the Burke group. Bob's character and friendship had a positive influence on my life, truly making me a better person and a more effective leader to those I work with. Bob, you really changed my life and I will miss you.

How fitting that a great man, a great friend, and a great US Marine would pass on the 4th of July. You'll be missed, my friend

A wonderfully warm and caring man! There was never a time when he wasn't engaged and concerned about all of us and our parents! Cheers Mr. H.!!

I was priviliged to be Bob's roommate at Harvard College for 4 years. Harvard gave freshman a psychological test at the beginning and end of the year. My results were wildly divergent. I attributed the difference to the influence of my roommate. Bob was so decent, so honest,so caring, that it wasn't possible to be immune to it. He elevated the standard. He touched my life and early on, I understood that I was the better for it. How lucky we were to have him among us. Bob Cathcart.

Bob was a long-term friend and colleague. I am grateful for his consistent
abundance of support, help and friendship. I respected him as a patriot, father and husband. To the Hoffsis family, I share your loss and grief. Bob
will forever occupy a fond place in my memory.

About two years ago when my husband was in Bryn Mawr rehab I would spend my days there too learning how to help him when he came home. I kept watching another gentleman who was a patient, knowing I knew him, but no one mentioned his name. I finally introduced myself and the gentleman was Mr. Hoffsis. Our connection was Bell of Pa. We reminisced about many people we both knew through the years, walking down memory lane. We could have talked for hours but he had to do his therapy. So glad I had that chance encounter. So sorry for your loss.

My heart is broken. Bob was the most loving "father". I am so blessed to have had him in my life. So sorry I will not be able to be at the service. Prayers and love.

I have been friends with Bob's son, Bob, since high school. Knowing the character of young Bob is enough to know that he had a great dad. But unlike most of my high school friend's dads, Bob's was around at friend's gatherings and parties all through the years. My dad never would have hung with my friends, and i would have never have thought to ask him. Not sure why... But Mr Hoffsis was one of those guys, gregarious, lovable, respected by all, and a welcome presence by us "kids" who used to avoid the dads. I think i got it wrong with mine. Younger Bob clearly got it right with his. So sorry Bob, i know you will miss your old man.

Hoffsis Family, I have such great memories of Bob. This is one I'll never forget. I worked for Steve Drake and, as Steve noted in his post, Bob was our client. I was a kid just out of college and was learning more than I was contributing to the Bell Atlantic work that Bob led. Once, while we were all in Philadelphia on BA business, my dad also happened to be in town. I had plans to meet him one evening for dinner after our BA work was done for the day. Bob asked if he could meet my dad before we went off to dinner. He walked with me and greeted my dad before gushing about the enormous contributions I was making in our work together. He grossly exaggerated to make a dad proud of his son. I'm so glad I had the chance to know Bob Hoffsis, a great and kind man.
My condolences to all of you.

Beverly -- Many years ago -- 1987-89 to be precise -- I had the pleasure and honor of having the best client I'd ever had -- until then, and since then: Bob Hoffsis. Engaging, caring, funny, professional, effective and insightful: these words just begin to describe the outsized and infectious personality, character and outlook of this most wonderful man, husband, father. brother, son, and friend. I will miss him, his humor, and his keen understanding of people, situations, and problems.
My sympathies to you, your children, your extended family and your friends: a better man few encounter. May God bless his soul, and may Bob Hoffsis rest in peace.
