He was born in Lowell, Nov. 9, 1947, son of the late Henry J. and Doris M. (Jean) Durand.
Mr. Durand served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, from 1966 until 1970.
Before retiring, Mr. Durand was employed as a custodian by the town of Chelmsford Public Schools. Previously, he worked at Pellon Corp., in Lowell, for many years.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Duane and Renee (Fierley) Durand of Nashua, N.H., and Derek Durand of Plymouth, N.H.; two grandchildren, Alexander and Olivia Durand, both of Nashua, N.H.
He is also survived by four sisters and brothers-in-law, Cecile and Bruce Nichols of Hudson, N.H., Jacqueline and Robert Durand of Lowell, Pauline and Michael Bourassa of Nashua, N.H., and Diane and James Boermeester of Chelmsford; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Louise Durand of Westford, and Gerald and Susan Durand of Dracut; as well as several nieces and nephews.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all my Durrand cousins and to Paul's family. Although I didn't know Paul(Whitey) very well as a kid as he was a ledgend in Centerville when I was growing up, Everyone knew him and I was proud to say he was my cousin. I remember him as a funfilled guy loving life and having fun with friends and family. My sincere condolences to all. Love,
