Richard E. Kiser

MANSFIELD: Richard E. Kiser, 73, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family, following a short illness.

Richard was born May 4, 1938 in Trammel, Virginia the son of the late Nathan and Inis (Wright) Kiser. He was a resident of Richland County for over 50 years.

He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Richard had worked at the General Motors, Ontario Plant, as a Tow Motor operator in the Shipping Department retiring in 1991.

He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Mansfield. The U. A.W., Ontario Local Union, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed going to auctions, collecting things, music, taking long walks and hiking.

On October 24, 1959 he was married to Carolyn Conley who survives him. He is also survived by four children, Nathan W. (Krista) Kiser of Ashland, Timothy A. (Marie) Kiser of Ashland, Pamela (Bob) Conn of Mansfield, Tamera (Steve) Shade of Jeromesville; 12 grandchildren, Josh, Adam, Rachel, Gemilla, Mack, Nathan, Britt, Jenny, Caleb, Conner, Megan and Matthew; seven great grandchildren, Christian, Preston, Owen, Ethan, Mayla, Shayona and Maddie; one sister, Ruby (David) Heitzman of Savannah; and one brother, Roley (Barb) Kiser of Ashland.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruth Ailer; and one brother, Russell E. Kiser.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home with Pastor Butch White officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Olivesburg, Ohio with the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard conducting full military honors. Friends may call on Sunday October 9, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
