Helen Bott Obituary

Helen Marie Bott Was born in Baker, Oregon. When her father, Emmett Galligan, died in a mining accident, she moved with her mother Margaret and brother Jack to Denver. After graduating from Denver University with a degree in biology, she worked as a lab technician. Helen met Edward Bott, a sergeant in the U.S. Army and they married in July 1942. The first of their three children, Vicki, was born a year later, followed by Gail in 1946, and David in 1953, born when they were stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. The family moved to San Rafael in 1956. Helen chose to continue her education at Dominican College and earned her teaching credential to become a 4th grade teacher at Santa Margarita School for the Dixie School District for many years. Helen was a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother to nine children and great grandmother to three. She was an excellent cook and baker, loved to quilt, sew and attend church. In 2002, she left her home of nearly fifty years and moved in with family in West Seattle where she passed away peacefully. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 3rd, 2007, 1:00 PM at St. Isabella's Catholic Church, One Trinity Way, Terra Linda, CA.
