AUGUSTA — Roger Lee Archibald, 73, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023.
He was born on May 2, 1949, to the late James Archibald and Virginia (Bruist) Groves and his step-father, Clyde Groves.
He was a retired Tool Die Maker with American Laundry and truck driver with Star and Bulk Transit. He was a United States Vietnam Army Veteran; Augusta Masonic Lodge # 80 F&AM and Mains- Quinlin V.F.W. Post 9535.
He is survived by his son, Jamie Archibald of Augusta; one grandson, Tyler (Carlee) Archibald of Brooksville; one sister, Kathy (Bobby) Pickrell of Augusta; sister-in-law, Susanne (Fred) Thornsbury of Augusta; nephews, Troy (Erica) Archibald, Justin (Tiffany) Pickrell, Nathan (Rachel) Pickrell, and Luke (Bridgett) Thornsbury; nieces, Sarah (Kent) Caudill and Renee (Kevin) McClanahan; great-nephews, Chase Archibald, Mason McClanahan, Carter McClanahan, Braylon McClanahan and Dylan Archibald; great nieces, Kailey (Todd) Kelsch, Nicole Archibald, Keirsten Archibald, Kinsley McClanahan, Shelby Pickrell, and Olivia Walton.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Archibald; a nephew, Larry Thomas Archibald; grandfather, Garrett Lee Owens; and his beloved dog, Tubby.
Roger enjoyed riding motorcycles and talking with friends and family.
Graveside service were Monday at Highland Cemetery in Augusta.
Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital, Augusta Masonic Lodge # 80, and Mains Quinlin V.F.W. Post 9535.

Roger and I butted heads all the time over politics. But, we were family and I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with his family.
