Arlene,
Your passing has left me with a heavy heart. My family has known you for so long, you are family. You watched me grow up, have children and get married. [In that order ;-)] I will always remember the fun times at the camper and all your patience every time you had to re-teach me the rules of canasta!! And of course, the goal was to beat Linda!! (Shhh) May you Rest in Peace sweet Arlene. I love you! Never a goodbye, just see you later!

I only met Arlene a few times when she and Uncle Barney came to California to visit my Mother which was Uncle Barneys older sister.
I enjoyed their visits. I got to know her more over the phone over the years. I would have to be sure to make myself comfortable before calling though as my calls to her usually lasted a good hour or more.
I will miss my Sunday conversations with her.
My heart goes out to the family.

One of my fondest memories was that Oak St. was closed in winter for kids to go sledding on. Aunt Arlene always had hot chocolate for us to warm up on those cold days and nights. It seemed we lived on that street and our sleds during the winter. I will always remember her love and kindness.

I was told that when Aunt Arlene and Uncle Alfred got married, I was their nightmare.,,I followed them everywhere. I could not understand why they closed their bedroom door so fast and left me stranding alone outside it. Every time I think of this I will smile. The sad part of my memories was that with the death of Lori, their daughter,it was the first time I ever had to deal with someone passing. I was too young to understand any of these memories. Now I understand what the loss of a special person can do. We share your grief and pray that the Lord give you all the strength you need at this time. We loved her and will miss her sorely.
