George Raad Obituary

George E. Raad, 70, of Allentown was called home to God on January 29th, 2022.

George was born on April 17, 1951, in Dearborn, Michigan, but grew up in the 6th Ward of Allentown. He attended Dieruff High School Class of 1969 (affectionately known as the best class), where he became Class President along with playing football and baseball.

Son of Harvey Z. Raad and Ruth (Sophy) Raad, they instilled the value of hard work, being loving and compassionate, and that above all else the importance of respect, not only for others but for yourself and your family name.

A 2nd generation Realtor, George had real estate in his blood as he followed in his father's footsteps for 50 years running Harvey Z. Raad Real Estate, a company built on a foundation of trust, integrity and loyalty. George was an active member of the Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors where he was President in 2005 along with receiving past awards of recognition from the National Assoc. of Realtors and Pennsylvania Assoc. of Realtors.

In his earlier years, he was active in youth sports at the Downtown Youth Center and in the 1990's at Mountainville Memorial and Little League, not focusing on wins or losses but on fundamentals and always giving maximum effort and how sports are a metaphor for life. His motto was "sweat plus sacrifice equals success" and always taught that true character is shown in times of adversity, not when things are going well.

George's two greatest passions in life were his dedication to the real estate industry and his love for his family which was everything to him! His beautiful 45 year storybook marriage produced two outstanding sons, two loving daughter-in-laws, 3 amazing grandchildren and countless laughs and memories that are shared with so many friends and family.

To know George was to love him, an avid fisherman and die hard Green Bay Packers fan, he was never shy in telling it like it was and giving his thoughts, being passionate with his words, and fighting for his beliefs. George touched the lives of everyone he has met.

Surviving him in death is the love of his life Linda Raad, Sons Christopher G. Raad & wife Gretchen, Gregory T. Raad and wife Devon, and his heart and joy his grandchildren Elijah, Jordan and Stella; Sisters Marilyn Raad and Sharon Raad-Adams.

Living a fulfilled, impactful life, he has been blessed with so many wonderful family members and friends. His life and legacy has made an impression on everyone he has touched.

"How you live your life is how you are remembered." ~ GER
