Janice P. Berger, 70, of South Pasadena, Florida, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. She was born in Olyphant, Pa., coming to Florida in 1998 from Bethlehem, Pa. She was a Registered Nurse whose career included working as a general duty, head surgical and private duty nurse at the Allentown (Pa.) State Hospital, Muhlenberg Medical Center, St. Lukes Hospital and Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton Nonprofit Registered Nurse Agency in Bethlehem, Byrn Mawr (Pa.) Hospital and Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis. She was also the treasurer for Berger Sanitation, Inc. in Lehigh Valley, Pa., for 35 years. Her memberships include Order of the Eastern Star, Banner Chapter in Conshohocken, Pa., and Womens Chamber of Commerce of the Greater Gulf Beaches, and a former member Womens Auxiliary American Legion Post 125 and Grace Lutheran Church. She attended college at Greene-Dreher Sterling in Newfoundland, Pa., and University of West Chester/Chester County Hospital in West Chester, Pa., where she received her nursing degree in 1956. Survivors: Husband of 47 years, Robert J. Berger Jr.; a son, Robert J. Rob Berger III and his wife Tina M. Berger of Walnutport, Pa.; a brother, Harold Portas of Moscow, Pa.; two grandchildren, Ryan J. Berger and Sarah A. Berger. Services: Memorial arrangements will be private.
