Jennie S. Ruggiero, 97, of Lehigh Center, Macungie, formerly of Wind Gap, died Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Lehigh Center. Born in Wind Gap on March 14, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Jo (Marcantonio) Sabatino. She was the wife of the late Daniel A. Ruggiero, who died August 7, 2006. Jennie was a member of St. Marys Episcopal Church, Wind Gap, where she a member of the Womens Altar Guild. She was employed by the former Valerie Fashions, Wind Gap, retiring in 1979. Survivors: Son, Neil A. Ruggiero of Macungie; daughter, Mary Jo Meneely and her husband, Brian E., of Wayne, Pa.; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sister, Mary S. Confalone of Bangor. In addition to her husband, Daniel, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelene Oberholtzer, on March 26, 1981, three sisters, Rose Karlin, Mabel Capobianco and Elizabeth Viglione, and four brothers, Allen, Foster, Phillip and Carl Sabatino. Services: will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009 in the Guerro & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 126 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Pen Argyl. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home. Interment will be in Wind Gap Cemetery, Plainfield Twp.
