Robert E. Jones

Jones, Robert E.Robert E. Jones, 94, of Allentown, died March 18, 2015 in Luther Woods Rehabilitation Center, Hatboro, PA. He was the husband of the late Alice Lanning (Scott) Jones. Robert retired as a Director of Purchases/Chemist/Plant Manager at Lehigh Portland Cement Company. Prior to that, he was a Supervisor of Munitions Manufacturing at Hercules Powder Company, and worked in Purchasing at Atlas Minerals and Chemicals. Born in Sandy Lake, PA, he was the son of the late George Washington Jones and the late Harriet (Taylor) Jones. He was a 1942 Graduate of Lafayette College, earning his BS in Chemical Engineering. Robert was a former President of Lehigh Valley Purchasing Association, a member of the Marquis Society at Lafayette College, a member of the James Madison Porter Society, a Lehigh Valley Literacy Instructor, a member of the Elks, Kiwanis, Kids Peace, and a Chair Fund Allocation Committee for the United Way. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator, Allentown, and was a former Senior Warden and Pastoral Care for the Episcopal Church. Survivors: Son: Larrie Jones and his wife Regina of Springfield, PA, Grandchildren: Christopher, Maura and Eleanor and a Great-Granddaughter: Victoria. He was predeceased by a Son: Leonard Jones. Services: A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11 A.M. in the Episcopal Church of the Mediator, 1620 W. Turner St. Allentown. Arrangements by the J. S.
