Ruth Gombert

Ruth E. Gombert, of Harleysville and formerly of East Rockhill Twp., PA, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, at Peter Becker Community, Franconia Twp., PA, on her 96th birthday. She was the wife of the late Robert R. Gombert who died March 13, 1999. Born in Lehighton, PA, she was the daughter of the late David G. and Minerva (Stoudt) Solt. She was a 1939 Graduate of Lehighton High School. Mrs. Gombert was employed as a bookkeeper for the former Donald Smith & Associates, Perkasie, for 15 years until retiring in 1985. Following her retirement, she worked part-time in the bookkeeping department for the Lutheran Community at Telford, Telford, PA. She was a long-time member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ridge Valley, PA, where she had served as Assistant Organist and on the Church Council. As a volunteer at the Lutheran Community at Telford, Mrs. Gombert shared her musical talents with the seniors there as well as several other retirement communities over the years. She was a former member of the Woman's Club of Perkasie, Perkasie, PA. Survivors: She is survived by a sister, Esther Larash, of Sebastian, FL; and six nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman and Mark Solt. Services: Her Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Peter Becker Community Chapel, 800 Maple Avenue, Harleysville, PA, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Perkasie.
