Shyla Faye Cauthen, seven, of Old Fort, N.C. went to be with the Lord on the evening of Monday, March 13, 2023.
Shyla was born in Marion, on May 26, 2015 to Andrew Tyler Cauthen and Melissa Denise Cauthen. She was a student at Glenwood Elementary where she was in the second grade. She was known as a very active child who loved to dance and play tag and hide-n-seek. Shyla was always telling funny stories and her favorite character was Sonic the Hedgehog. Most of all she loved her family and friends.
Including her parents she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Cynthia Curry; paternal grandparents, Kimberly and Eric Cauthen; paternal great grandfather, Neddie Gouge; two sisters, Tuie Denae Cauthen and Heidi Lenae Cauthen along with a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Living Waters Tabernacle at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Keith Jamison officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 4 to 5 p.m.
